Cedar Rapids Tree Service

Tree Services - Tree Care You Can Trust Since 2001

Other Tree Care Services

Aside from our standard services in Cedar Rapids, IA, we also offer a diverse range of affordable tree services that can cater to every homeowner's tree care needs.

  • Tree Felling: This is the process of cutting down the tree and leaving it on the ground for the customer to handle. This service is best for those who can do their cleanup and those who want to save on removal costs. Tree felling typically costs less than a complete tree removal service.
  • Cabling and Bracing are techniques used to ensure the structural stability of a fragile tree. Certain types of trees compromise their structure as they grow. Our tree experts can do cabling and bracing to support the tree as it develops.
  • Tree Pruning: Pruning may come in different types. We have listed a summary of the types of pruning that we can offer.
  • Crown Cleaning: This type of pruning involves removing dead and diseased branches from the tree's canopy, as well as rubbing and intertwining branches. Crown cleaning removes weak branches that will, in turn, strengthen the tree against storms and high winds.
  • Pruning Dead Wood and Diseased Branches: It focuses on eliminating dead or dying branches or limbs in a tree.

  • Interior Thinning: The goal of this type of pruning is to improve the tree's access to sunlight. It can significantly improve the tree's strength against wind and ice.
  • Elevating: This means removing limbs in contact with the ground or causing obstructions. If the tree is located along the streets or in public areas, it may need to be elevated to avoid impending access around the tree.
  • Shaping: This is one of the most basic pruning services we offer. The aim is to restore the tree's natural appearance. Landscape trees typically grow in all directions because they don't have to compete with other trees for sunlight and nutrients. This is why landscape trees are prone to overgrowing. Regular pruning will prevent the tree from growing excessively.
  • Clearing Branches from Structures: This kind of pruning is essential if the tree is in contact with or encroaches on nearby structures, such as power lines. If we don't prune these trees immediately, it could lead to safety hazards. Consequently, if a tree in contact with a structure causes damage, it will deny the homeowner's insurance policy.
  • Crown Reduction: This essential pruning technique involves reducing both the width and height of the tree, which is particularly vital for trees prone to storm damage.
  • Topping: We never recommend this type of pruning to our clients. Inexperienced and amateur tree companies often resort to topping, a harmful practice that poses significant risks to tree health and structure. Topping can lead to the tree's decline or death, and even if it survives, it will likely develop an unnatural form that persists throughout its lifespan.

If you're thinking about taking up a tree care project in your yard to save money, forget it. Leave it to the pros, who will save you time and money. Your time is valuable, and the pros at Cedar Rapids Tree Service can get it done quickly.
